Two platforms. One single control architecture.

Both run the same software, the same electronics, and the same processing technology. Switching from one to the other doesn't require you to retrain your workflow or redo your material parameter sets.

The entire specification is here, in HTML and not in a PDF, so you can copy it, compare it, and take it to your spreadsheet.

Delfin MTL 301 Z22 vacuum cleaner with cyclone separator and collection tank

Metal powder vacuum cleaner

Dolphin equipment that we distribute

shop floor vacuum cleaner won't do: with fine metal powder, the vacuum itself becomes the hazard. We don't manufacture this vacuum cleaner ourselves—we distribute it through an agreement with Delfin—and that's why we recommend two versions depending on what you'll be handling. If you work with non-reactive materials, the MTL 301 Z22 with cyclone separator and collection tank. If you're going to use aluminium, titanium, or other reactive powders, the MTL 202 DS EX, certified for ATEX zones, is the best. The difference isn't about convenience: it's about safety.

03 The room

What should the room where the machine will go be like?

It's the most common question when someone is considering buying, and the one least often answered in catalogs. The ALBA fits through a standard door and works with a regular outlet, but the surrounding room does have specific requirements, and these are cheaper to plan before the renovation rather than afterward.

This is what we reviewed with you. We don't need a clean room or a new building: we just need these eight things sorted out.

Argon: bottle or connection

The chamber is inerted with argon. You can work with cylinders or with a supply from an external tank, depending on the print volume. What you need to plan for is where the cylinders will be placed, how they can be changed without having to move halfway across the floor, and that the line must be gas, not reused compressed air.

Oxygen sensors in the room

This is not optional and it's the most often forgotten element. Argon is heavier than air, odorless, and gives no warning: it displaces oxygen at floor level without anyone noticing. Fixed O₂ detection, with the probe at a low angle and an audible alarm, is necessary in the room and in any pit or cavity where it could accumulate.

Ventilation and forced extraction

Air renewal in the room and localized extraction where powder is handled: when opening the chamber, when dusting, and when sieving. The extraction system must be compatible with metal powder; a standard shop floor hood will not suffice.

Temperature and humidity controlled

Metal powder absorbs moisture, and damp powder prints poorly and clumps. Stable climate control and humidity control are essential in the room, especially where the powder is stored. This is the difference between reusing a batch five times or throwing it away.

Anti-static flooring and sweep-free cleaning

Conductive or antistatic flooring, and smooth, cleanable surfaces. No brooms or compressed air: stirring up metal dust is exactly what you want to avoid. Clean with certified vacuum cleaners and a damp cloth.

Certified suction and PPE

A vacuum cleaner designed for metal powder—ATEX certified if you work with reactive alloys like aluminium or titanium—and personal protective equipment for the user: mask, gloves, and clothing. Both are in the ecosystem below.

Separate screening area

Sieving and transferring are the moments when the most powder is released into the air. These processes should take place in a separate or isolated area, with its own extraction system, and not in the middle of the flow.

LED or indirect lighting

It seems like a minor detail, but it's not: in direct, harsh light, the powder on the bed is dazzling, obscuring the true condition of the coating. Diffused or indirect LED lighting is sufficient for working inside the build chamber while wearing gloves.

How it looks

What goes around it, and the same machine already in the plant.

We do it with you.

We didn't give you the list and we wish you luck.

Preparing the room is part of the purchase, not a problem that starts when the truck arrives. We'll review the floor plan with you, tell you what's needed and what isn't in your specific case, and give you the best order to do it.

And where a third party is needed—for example, for facility certification, zoning, or atmospheric testing—we work with companies that have already done this for facilities like yours and we put you in touch with them. We don't charge for introductions.

04 Ecosystem

A machine is not an installation.

Personal protective equipment

Mask, gloves, and appropriate clothing for handling fine metal powder. It's the first thing people forget and the first thing an inspector checks.

Certified industrial vacuum

A shop floor vacuum cleaner won't do: with reactive metal powder, the vacuum cleaner itself becomes the hazard. You need one designed specifically for that material.

Samylabs Garbi Screening Machine

Ultrasonic screening with ATEX certification and an inertizable interior, for recovering and reusing powder from each build. See the full data sheet.

Shot blasting station

To remove adhered powder and provide the initial surface finish before machining anything with tolerance.

SamyStudio 5.9

The slicing, parameterization, and control software was developed in conjunction with the machine. See what it does.

And what we don't sell

Heat treatment for stress relief, platform separation by electro-erosion or sawing, and metrology. We mention this because it's part of the actual installation budget and should be included beforehand, not afterward.

05 AdditiveDelivery · for those who buy

Your machine can start giving back money in the first week.

An ALBA machine isn't working 100% of the time. Nobody is. Those downtime hours are the most expensive part of any piece of equipment, and until now there was no way to make them profitable.

When you buy a machine, you can join AdditiveDelivery, our on-demand manufacturing network. We deliver the analyzed, targeted, and pre-set work; you decide if you have the capacity. You invoice Samylabs, you don't chase after any clients, and you don't compete on price with anyone.

You buy a machine. You get a machine and a sales channel.

  1. You say so when you buyOr later, whenever you like. It's not a condition of the purchase and it doesn't change the price of the machine.
  2. You qualify the machineThe master part is printed and measured: density, dimensions, and finish. It's the same quality control we perform on ourselves.
  3. You receive the kit and enterNameplate, vinyl decals, communication kit, and directory listing. From there, you'll receive inquiries that match your machine and materials.
  4. You accept what suits you.No exclusivity, no minimums, and no obligation. Your client portfolio remains yours: the network fills the gaps, not your schedule.

The network's economic conditions, the machine hourly rate, and the final kit contents are still being finalized and will be agreed upon shop floor by shop floor. What remains unchanged is the rule: no exclusivity and no obligation to accept work.

Do you already know why they choose us?

It's not the price. It's that the machine, the software, and the parameters are ours, so nobody can shut it down from the outside.

06 Questions

Before deciding between one and the other.

Which one is better for me, the 300 or the 500?
The ALBA 300 is ideal if your parts fit within its volume and you work in a shop floor, laboratory, or training center: it fits through a door and runs on standard household current. The ALBA 500 is better if you need larger parts or plan for continuous production, as its larger build plate capacity and double filtration with bypass significantly increase productivity. If you're unsure, tell us the largest part you need to produce, and we'll let you know in an email.
What kind of installation do you need?
Less than people expect. The ALBA 300 runs on 230V single-phase domestic current and consumes the equivalent of an electric iron when in operation. It requires a mains connection or an argon or nitrogen cylinder for the inert atmosphere. It measures 730 mm wide, so it fits through a standard doorway, and it's mounted on wheels.
Can I use powder from another supplier?
Yes. The configuration is open: you choose the supplier and you take your own material specifications. We sell powder under the SamyPowder brand because we're asked to, not because we need to.
What about software licenses?
No surprises here: our own software, compiled and encrypted, royalty-free, with unlimited licenses, and it works offline. We don't charge per print or per session.
Does joining the network obligate me to do anything?
No. It's not a condition of purchase, it doesn't change the machine's price, it doesn't bind you exclusively, and you don't have to accept any work. It's a way to monetize downtime, and you can activate and deactivate it whenever you want.
