ADDIT3D 2017: our first prototype, an ALBA 250
From 6 to 8 June 2017 we took our first metal 3D printer prototype to ADDIT3D. It was called ALBA 250: a 250 W laser and a 120 × 120 × 120 mm build volume.

It was a small machine and it was a prototype, plainly said. What we were after at that fair was not sales: it was standing in front of manufacturers and industrial investors to find out whether the project had legs.
It did. Among the many visitors to the stand were the Spanish coordinators of the OpenMaker project, Tecnalia, who took an interest in the development and invited us onto their platform. That led to the call we won the following year.

That ALBA 250 no longer exists as a product. What does continue is the line that started there: the ALBA 300 and the ALBA 500, with all the technology developed in house.
