ADDIT3D 2019: the ALBA 300, and technology of our own
From 4 to 6 June 2019 we were at ADDIT3D, stand 5/N-04 at the BEC, to present the ALBA 300: our first fully industrialised machine.

What set it apart was not a number, it was where each part came from. Control firmware, 3D mechanical design, laser control system: all developed inside the company. Plus in-house slicing software that lets the customer change process parameters on the fly, instead of accepting whatever the factory shipped.
With a compact design and a domestic power supply, the ALBA 300 was meant to run not only on an industrial floor but also in an office or a training workshop.
At that point there were fewer than a dozen firms in Europe selling SLM metal 3D printers. In Spain, none other. Back in 2017 this Basque engineering company had been the first in Spain to develop a printer with this technology.
The development was carried out with ONA Electroerosión. The fair also served to launch a new corporate identity.

The ALBA 300 is still in the catalogue and still producing at customer sites: technical data. Why develop the whole technology in house, and what it costs, in this article.
